Mandarin Teaching on Curriculum
High-quality teaching, ongoing flexibility and simple IT set-up have made our Connect programmes a huge success since 2018.
LCA teaches Mandarin on curriculum in both primary and secondary schools. We cater for beginners, intermediate and advanced students.
We provide high quality online (or face to face) teachers, engaging ascychronous learning and detailed results per student/form to our client schools.
LCA’s courses are fully aligned to school curricula and are combined with cultural studies, thus enabling our teachers to give students invaluable cultural knowledge and awareness while simultaneously advancing their language skills. The programmes run through the entire academic year like all other timetabled subjects on the curriculum, with lesson length and class frequency aligned to the school’s timetable requirements and budget.
Students show high levels of engagement when learning in small groups and supported by our online platforms, while real-time reports make it easy to see each student’s engagement, which means that any problems are addressed early. The platforms provides full tracking of pupil progress, including activity completion, class behaviour and personalised feedback on each student.
How does Connect work?
Connect typically splits whole classes into four groups. Two groups participate in live online teaching from two professional teachers, while the other two groups engage with our bespoke e-learning platform. Halfway through the lesson, the groups switch. You can see an example of this in the schematic below.
In the live class, students are taught in a virtual classroom with lessons that feature interactive whiteboards and quizzes. On the e-learning platform, students navigate through a series of interactive activities, ranging from simple matching games to reading/listening exercises, introducing grammar, vocabulary and culture. The games use algorithms to ensure that words the student finds difficult reappear more frequently. The platform measures each student’s progress, rewarding individuals with virtual badges to reflect their effort and achievement.
Connect can run with any class size. The only requirements are:
- Broadband connection
- 1 x PC/Mac/Tablet per student
- 1 x headphone with mic per student
- 1 member of school staff to supervise the class
*Please note that we are still able to run effective lessons where schools do not have one screen or one headset for each pupil.*
For the video-conferencing part of the lesson, we work primarily with GoogleMeet. We can be flexible if a school wishes to use a different route.
If your school is based in London, we can deliver face to face lessons using the same ‘Connect’ content.

We provide only the best foreign language teachers to our schools. Our teachers are a mixture of native and non-native teachers and, given the online nature of the delivery, are physically located all over the world! The majority are currently teaching or have taught their chosen language in schools, and appreciate our focus on quality, engagement and reporting.
